What happened in Pekin Tuesday night? Democracy in action. That's what.

The Southside Business Association sponsored their annual Candidate's night and it was held at the Knights of Columbus on N. 11th St. Rob Paullin was the emcee and Linda Miller suggested we take a moment to remember silently Mary Kay Abts, who was so very involved in the Pekin community before passing away recently.
County Clerk Christie Webb informed the audience that in regards to the undervoting issue, voters can tell the election judge at the polls that the voter does not want his ballot to be spit back out by the machine and to let the machine just accept the ballot, if any offices were left unvoted by the voter. Clear as mud? Call the clerk at 477-2267.
It looks like there is a lot to study to be informed about the many candidates who so eloquently stumped. This photo is a bit blurry, but that is Rob right after leading the group in the Pledge of Allegiance. If you don't like the photo, take your own and post the story yourself on Pekin's Central Bulletin Board.
Get informed and vote in the Feb. 2nd primary. and just across the parking lot also on 11th Street.... (see the next message )
